Don’t try to pigeonhole Dee Delaney because it can’t be done.  He’s an all-state football player who begins summer practice next week at The Citadel, where he’ll be attending college on a full scholarship.  But the newly minted Whale Branch Early College High School grad was also an all-state basketball player and an all-state baseball player.  And as if that weren’t enough, he won the Class 1A state championship in the 400-meter hurdles.  Delaney was an all-star in the classroom, too, graduating No. 8 in the Class of 2013.  “He’s awesome,” says Whale Branch Principal Priscilla Drake.  “It’s a rare thing to see a young man who’s so outstanding in both academics and athletics.  And on top of everything else, he’s a wonderful role model for the younger students.”
