Got it covered

Lady’s Island Elementary students and staff are celebrating!  They are not only featured in an educational book about arts integration, but their own art is on the book’s cover!  Author Claudia Cornett just released the fifth edition of Creating Meaning through Literature and the Arts, which gives instructional material on implementing music, visual art, drama, dance and literature into every subject. The book is currently used in dozens of colleges around the U.S. and in a handful of other countries, and this edition will also be available as an e-book. Many third- through fifth-graders were involved in this project as they were observed in classroom settings and created the art for the book cover. Teachers involved were Stephanie Reidmayer, Kristin Brady, Lisa Ten Eyck, Lynda McLain, Jessica Goethe-Bacon and Charlotte DiOrio.
